City of Demorest Fire Department is Hiring a Firefighter Near Demorest, GA

Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Firefighters. As a Firefighter, you will play a crucial role in protecting lives and property by responding to emergency situations and providing assistance in various capacities. This is a physically demanding and rewarding position that requires quick thinking, teamwork, and the ability to perform under pressure.

Duties:
- Responding to fires alarms, medical emergencies and other emergency calls
- Operating firefighter equipment, rescue equipment, ems equipment
- Conducting search and rescue operations
- Administering basic life support and first aid
- Assisting with hazardous material incidents
- Conducting fire safety inspections and pre-incident planning
- Participating in training exercises and drills
- Maintaining equipment and performing routine maintenance tasks

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid drivers license capable of operating Fire apparatus with a clean driving record
- Physical fitness and ability to pass a physical agility test
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Firefighter 1, medical first responder equivalent or higher, hazardous materials operations, fire apparatus operator(prefered)
- Mechanical knowledge for operating firefighting equipment
- Knowledge of basic life support techniques, CPR, and first aid
- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, operate is extreme weather and environmental conditions, operate power tools,​ and perform physically demanding tasks
